Mriya Departs Manchester - 26.06.13.

After a delay of just over 24 hours the behemoth that is the Antonov AN225 finally departed from Manchester, the sun even made an appearance for the occasion.

These were taken from the southside of the airfield, there were plenty of other photographers there as well as members of the public who came to see the beast depart.

Monday 24th June 2013 saw the worlds largest aircraft, the Antonov AN225 "Mryia" scheduled to visit Manchester to pick up some heavy machinery bound for for Seoul, Korea.

Despite lots of anticipation that she wouldn't appear, just after 1pm she touched down - and an awesome sight it was too !

Having heard of the first visit of an Egyptair B737, I braved the good old Manchester weather and had a couple of hours in the RVP, using 23R meant the aircraft were lifting more or less adjacent the my location.
